How long have you been doing what you do, and how did you get to be The Men's Success Coach?

In 2002, I left the corporate world to launch my coaching and consulting business. Initially, since I had been an executive for 20+ years, my early clients were corporate leaders who wanted support on initiating the vision, mission and strategy of their businesses. I also worked with their teams on communication skills and implementation of their company's goals. Men have always been a strong client base for me, first from the business aspect as a consultant, and then as my business grew it became more about personal coaching than executive consulting. So it was less about coaching businesses and more about coaching individuals - in connecting hearts and minds. Men especially - in their circles, there usually isn't the opportunity to talk about "heart." There are men's groups out there, especially with religious affiliations, yet there aren’t many opportunities out there for men to learn about how to go "inside," to tap into their true masculine power, to live based on spirit and not based on ego. Out there it’s more about external successes - career, family, community, which are very important. And in coaching with me, men get more in touch with their true calling, their intuition and what's really possible when they focus on heart or intuition over ego or intellect.

In addition to launching my business, I joined the Anthony Robbins Companies as an Elite Coach in 2003, where I am given the opportunity to coach hundreds and hundreds of people across the globe. I consistently work with a client base of 50 - 60 clients per month, so I have learned to be the expert on what people are made of, and I have decided to focus on a more niche client base of successful businessmen. Men who on the outside look like they have it all - and yet something’s missing - they have the questions and don't know where to turn for the answers.

So I really began to resonate with, and make a huge difference coaching, men - especially those in their 40s and 50s, highly successful, yet there was something missing or a disconnect they couldn’t quite put their finger on. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you in really getting in touch with your core truth. And, in doing so, your life is aligned and congruent, and you "walk your talk," having a positive ripple effect on yourself, your career, your family, your community and the world.

My career is my passion; I truly don't know the difference between work and play. I feel very blessed and honored to have the opportunity to work with so many amazing people from across the globe in really getting in touch with their purpose and passion and what is most important and fulfilling to them.

So I am stepping it up again, claiming what I know to be true and so very important, in working with men specifically, to go inside and tap into your true core power. You are such great role models; you have an opportunity here in working with me, of becoming an even more positive and passionate role model in your life.

And what about women? Yes, I work with women too, and I know many women are the guiding influence for the men in their lives so I want them to know what I'm up to as well. I've had many of my women clients refer the men in their lives to coaching - bosses, colleagues, significant others, friends. And I've coached many women, and support them in shining even brighter as they balance their life, and in the process learn the distinction between "self-ish" and "self-love."

I have never ever looked back, wondering if I made the right decision in the work that I do. I know that I am working with a core client base that I am most passionate about and can see a hugely positive influence in our world because of who they are willing to become. For me, it's more about transforming lives than it is about earning an income. I know and trust and believe that when I’m truly on purpose, the money will follow, and that has occurred for me every single time.

So - you are important to me; who you are in the world is important to me; I want you to see and live into the potential I see for you. And I never work harder than my client. You have to really want this, you must come ready to play full out and together we will create a stronger partnership in how we work together than you may have ever thought possible.

My coach [yes I have worked with a coach for the past 12 years and plan to continue having that support on my journey] mentioned to me that when we met, I didn't know my true talents. That she knew the minute she met me that I have remarkable healing powers emotionally, mentally and spiritually. At that point she chose to commit herself to my journey because she believed that she would replace herself with me. She is now not only my coach, also a very dear friend who has been a huge influence on me and has guided and encouraged me on my journey, even during the darkest moments.

As your coach, I am an objective person in your life, one who truly has unconditional love and compassion for what it takes to walk this transformational journey. Believe me, I will not ask you to do anything I haven't already had the courage to change and take action on in my own life. Not that you will follow my specific path, yet you will be inspired by your coach who absolutely walks her talk.

In 2007, I kept asking myself the question of "what's next." I knew it was time to step up my game and was in the question, or the inquiry, of this for a year. By 2008, I became clear that it was about growing my business with a specific niche client base through online marketing.

That's one thing about coaching - my clients keep showing up, matching what's going on in my life. And the majority of my clients were either online marketers or I was supporting them in learning the process. So I took their lead and changed the direction of my business to fit that format. There were many learning lessons along the way. Isn't that usually the way it goes when you're playing a bigger game? And yes, I hired an online marketing coach to support me and to guide me in understanding the specific blueprint and process. And I am thrilled to be out there, for you to have found me, for us to have the opportunity to do some very powerful, fun, gutsy, intuitive, transformational work together. Now while this journey may not be the easiest, there is absolutely nothing more fulfilling, I can guarantee you that.

I love hearing my clients' stories about how their lives change. They are more present and loving and giving. They receive more because they give so much more. It's a life that you might have only dreamed of living in the past. The coincidences and synchronicities of what you pay attention to will make you laugh with joy. Life is so abundant, there are endless possibilities, and I will show you how to experience that life for you.

Again, was this an easy process for me, in coming up with another transition in my business? Not really. I'm human too, and when I do shift and come from lack I can go to huge fear. "But this is such a big financial and time and energy investment," or "I'm already working so hard," or "I need to continue to support myself financially," blah blah blah. Once I really worked through those issues and refocused on my big dream, my mindset changed, allowing for very little scarcity, and a whole lot of abundance - and joy, and passion, and fun, and of course... lots of gratitude...

So yes, I do love supporting successful professional men in making their dreams come true! And that's how the Men’s Success Coach was born!

Who are your clients exactly?

I work with men just like you who have the external successes in their lives and now it's time to go inside, to tap into your true core power, to be even more in your masculine energy. Ongoing growth and contribution are more and more important to you. You're starting to realize that the more you know, the more you don't know, and you have an insatiable thirst for making a difference to others and to the world, for leaving a legacy, for being a powerful role model.

This works well for me and for you because I am passionate about this type of work and about you as my client. I support, inspire, coach, teach, push, question and more... all in the name of you opening into even more of who you really are.

And many of you have already been devoting your life to guiding, inspiring and helping others. You intuitively understand how important it is that your career aligns with your spiritual self or something's "off." You realize that wholeness and success in your life is something you are not willing to trade for all the business success in the world.

Now, with that said, I also work with very driven, high-achieving clients who understand their business is a big part of their life's purpose and if they don't honor THAT they are not living the life they were born to live. Also, my clients know they can make great money while also making a positive impact on the world! Spirit and money easily work together... you can absolutely have both!

How are you different from other "coaches"?

I'm different from other coaches in several ways. First of all, I do have the corporate background and business acumen to support my clients. I began my career in finance and was promoted along the way to executive management positions. So yes, I do have the expertise to support you in your career, from creating business plans, to developing your vision/mission/strategy, to supporting you in being a great leader, managing great teams and much, much more.

I have all that. And I've also devoted my ongoing learning journey to going much deeper. I have a gift for listening to what really creates the patterns people get stuck in, I listen for the unconscious beliefs and rules you have that get in your way or cause the conflict in achieving what you truly want. Who are you, really, when you're not your "story"? I work with you on the unconscious level; clearing out the deep blocks so they no longer get in the way of what you know is possible. The healthier you are in mind/body/spirit, the less you rely on addictions to relax you or to make you happy. You'll learn how to be in a great emotional state no matter what's going on around you.

And I've decided on men as my niche market, because I am an expert in supporting men on their journey inside. And I know this to be true... there is absolutely nothing more fulfilling, than taking the journey inside, I guarantee you that! And I feel very blessed that I live in it every day! So I, as your coach, am very aligned and congruent with how I am supporting you. I've been there; I know the courage it takes to transform, the confusion that can sometimes occur right before you have a breakthrough. And, I know how to support you in whatever the process is that you're in, I will guide you and support you in seeing what's possible and true for you. I will push you to go that extra 2mm to have it all. And the rewards? Oh my, the rewards are grander than you might have imagined ever experiencing.

Does everyone get these rewards? Only those who are willing to play full out and want it more than they've ever wanted anything else; Only those who honor the commitments and continue to play full out between our sessions; Only those who focus on what is possible and let go of what hasn't supported them in the past. There's one more thing that makes me different from other business coaches and that's my absolute commitment to continually working on my own inner growth and mindset. In fact, I often tell my clients that the real path to living your life with passion is through working with your own fears, belief structures, and rules. I know it is. As you break free from the fears, beliefs and rules that hold you back you'll clear a pathway for abundance, freedom and so much more.

You could also say I come to this path quite naturally. I've always wanted to support others in making them great, and I bring huge enthusiasm and fun to everything I do. My parents did an excellent job in raising me and my four sisters and two brothers. I've always had a passion for business even while raising my three incredible children. So yes, I come to this path of passion naturally - but if you don't, that's OK, that's what I'm here for!

What type of client do you work best with?

I have to admit; I’m so proud of all my clients and love them all! Each one brings their own unique energy and gifts to the table. I’m known for working with really amazing clients. What do I mean by that? Well, my clients are devoted to what they do and are very gifted and talented.

The clients I work with MUST be willing to do what it takes to live the life they’ve only imagined possible, as well as listen to and consider my carefully offered coaching. That includes working on your limiting fears, beliefs and rules that stand between you and the life you were born to live.

I don’t work well with excuse-makers or storytellers or anyone that’s not willing to take 100% responsibility for their life. I ask a lot of my clients because I SEE a lot in them. I wouldn’t serve my clients or myself by holding back or playing small. I don’t work with clients that will hold back or play small either.

I’m known for giving my clients lots of unconditional love, compassion and encouragement. I’m also known for my calmness, intuitive listening abilities AND drill sergeant style when needed! I’m also very generous with my clients, and am always passing useful information and resources your way. I’m a filter for my clients and only share with you what WORKS, therefore saving my clients LOTS of time and energy!

For what type of client is this program NOT going to work?

Please know I’m very selective in who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren’t suited for my programs and won’t get the results for which you would have signed up for. (It wouldn’t be fair to you.)

When you’re ready, call me and we’ll get you started. (I’m in no rush and will be here when you need me.)

I won’t work with (without exception) the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their commitments done or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call, and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money. Is that fair?

You’ll also meet with Joy live in person one day three times a year for a review and planning session. Not for the dabbler or wannabe — as Joy will be tough on you. It requires a sincere commitment, an application, and an intense interview process.

Joy lives life as fully as possible with water and snow based activities. She is an avid road bicyclist and loves to rollerblade. She also enjoys yoga, relaxing in the hammock (balance, right?) is an avid reader and an enthusiastic learner.
